1. What This Website Is

This is a privately run reference resource, independent of every government agency. It does not maintain official records, retrieve a record on a user's behalf, perform an official background check, or submit any form or filing.

Its function is to identify where Douglas County records are held. Those sources include Douglas County Sheriff's Office Records, the county's justice and district courts, the Nevada Department of Public Safety Records, Communications and Compliance Division (RCCD), and the Nevada Sex Offender Registry. The site may also connect users with outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

As a condition of access, you agree not to:

• Violate any applicable local, Nevada, or federal law
• Threaten, stalk, or harass a person with information obtained here
• Use site content for a hiring, housing, credit, lending, or insurance decision
• Attempt unauthorized entry into any account, server, feature, or system
• Send bots, automated scrapers, or similar collection tools through the site
• Interfere with site operation or another person's ability to use it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use data from this site or a linked service to intimidate, threaten, stalk, harass, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct may also violate the law. Nevada Sex Offender Registry information requires particular care. NRS Chapter 179B governs Nevada registration and public notification, protects victim identity, and bars threatening, intimidating, or harassing conduct based on registry data. The registry serves public-safety awareness, not vigilantism, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Douglas County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the FCRA. It produces no consumer report, credit report, or background check. Its advertising partners likewise do not offer site services designed to evaluate an applicant for work or housing, set insurance terms, or assess credit. You agree that neither site data nor information from a linked tool will be used to:

• Make an employment, hiring, or termination decision
• Evaluate a tenant, rental application, or housing request
• Set insurance rates or decide whether to extend credit
• Assess eligibility for a license, permit, or public benefit
• Carry out any other transaction governed by the FCRA

Anyone who needs a check for a regulated purpose must use the legally authorized channel, such as the Nevada Department of Public Safety RCCD process when applicable, or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. Descriptions of Douglas County charges, convictions, warrants, access rules, or Nevada record sealing do not determine how the law applies to an individual matter. A licensed Nevada attorney should address case-specific legal questions.

6. No Warranties

All content and features are supplied "as is." No promise or warranty is made that:

• Information will always be complete, correct, or current
• Access will remain uninterrupted or continuously available
• Pages will contain no defect, error, or security vulnerability
• A partner's search result will be accurate or comprehensive

Criminal records can change as charges are filed, amended, dismissed, adjudicated, or sealed. Nevada record sealing restricts access rather than erasing every copy, and agency systems may update at different times. Information here may therefore have gaps or delays. Only the originating Douglas County court, Sheriff's Office, Nevada DPS RCCD, or other lawful custodian can provide an official response.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to Douglas County offices, Nevada courts and agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Following a link takes you to a service controlled by someone else. We do not manage its content, availability, privacy practices, fees, or data handling and accept no responsibility for them. Review that provider's own terms before proceeding.

8. Intellectual Property

Douglas County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, code, graphics, and logos. Without prior written permission, you may not reproduce, alter, distribute, or create a derivative work from that material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses or damages arising from site use, including reliance on information found here or through an external service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against a claim, demand, or legal proceeding caused by your use of the site or your violation of these terms, including related costs and legal fees.

11. Governing Law

Nevada law governs these terms. Any dispute tied to use of Douglas County Criminal History must be brought in a court located in Nevada. Nevada Public Records Law is found in NRS Chapter 239, criminal-history dissemination is governed by NRS Chapter 179A, and registry access is governed by NRS Chapter 179B where those subjects apply.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms at any time. A revision becomes effective when the updated language is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may suspend, restrict, or end a person's access at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected provision will be limited or revised only to the extent required for enforcement.
